John enjoys blending his ideas with those of the job's Designer, Art Director or Corporate Communications Director. John graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography with the school's highest honors. He received a BFA with advanced study in advertising, industrial and portrait photography. He was an Officer-in-Charge of documentary photography for the elite Department of the Army Special Photographic Office (DASPO). And, over the years, he has had vast experience in small business and corporate photography in the financial, retail, property development, food, paper, plastics, furniture making, pharmaceutical, metal stamping and foundry industries.
John's approach to his client's photography needs? To identify the subject matter with the
most potential, to create dynamic compositions and to style the lighting to produce the strongest images. He does not work in a single, rigid style. John doesn't just want to satisfy his clients, he wants his visual solutions to contribute to their maximum success and to be a lasting value to their company.
John's working style often begins with quick preliminary shots to offer the client a way to visualize the idea/composition. In the many cases, where he does not meet the client or their representative, John researches their needs by phone and then thoroughly scouts the facilities to make the final choice of the best photo potential. He then coordinates with the facility manager to arrange for lighting, staging and photography in the midst of full activity at the office or plant.
 John's style is unique, but what really sets him apart from the competition is his skill in lighting. He learned portrait, product, architectural and motion picture lighting from the masters of lighting at Brooks Institute of Photography and he experiments to hone his skills on every assignment. John continually searches for new lighting insights, conceptualizing the style of light which takes the client's subject matter to a new level of impact. Whether the subject is an individual portrait, group photograph, architectural space or production area, the lighting is
designed by John to bring out the best attributes. This is done quickly and efficiently, without interrupting activity in office environments, architectural interiors or production lines. John will bring enough lighting equipment (at no additional cost) to create these natural lighting effects or dramatic effects in professional spaces, retail operations or plants.
John believes that it is often best to use actual employees as models in his photos to show a process or for scale. This enables production lines, office work or retail activity to continue during photo sessions and captures the personality of the business in their brochures, Web site, annual reports, etc. His technique has worked well over the years in environments such as finance, architecture, professional services, retail, education, agriculture, pharmaceutical, energy, chemical, plastics, paper and petrochemical.
